We thank all of you for your generosity in completing our 2009 drive. Thanks to you, we were able to fill and deliver 23 baskets to Seniors in the Pioneer Valley. Special thanks to the Dragon Chi Academy for their help in reaching our goal.
The Senior Food Project was founded in 2005 to meet the needs of an ever-growing senior population that is having problems making ends meet. During the challenging winter months, it is sometimes necessary
for our seniors to decide between food or heat. The gift of a food basket can be a great help, particularly during the holiday season.
In 2005, we set out with a modest goal of collecting food for five baskets. Through the generosity of both friends and strangers, food to fill a total of thirteen baskets was collected and the baskets were delivered to a local Co
uncil on Aging for disbursement to seniors in need. The baskets were greatly appreciated by the recipeints and the Council on Aging.
Some years have been good ones, and we have been able to deliver up to 25 baskets. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to deliver 23 baskets this year.
We sincerely thank those who contributed. Baskets were distributed through the East Longmeadow Senior Center, The Easthampton Community Center and through private parties.

Linda & Friends:
Once again, on behalf of The Council on Aging, thank you for the wonderful food baskets. They were very greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

Dear Linda,
Many thanks for the wonderful baskets you delivered to the Center. The seniors that received them were very excited about all the goodies. It is so kind of you to bring these baskets each year. They are a wonderful addition to our food pantry program. With over 300 families in the program, we are always looking for additional ways to help those in need of food stability.
May you have a healthy and happy New Year.
With deepest appreciation,
Robin, Food Pantry/Kitchen Coordinator, Easthampton Community Center
